So I posted this on my Facebook 2 weeks ago, but figured I should post this on my insta too!✨ "One day you're in, and the next day, you're out!". As you may have seen, I was eliminated on week 7’s episode of Project Runway New Zealand. I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who made this dream a reality! Project Runway was a show I grew up watching, and had a huge influence on me wanting to pursue fashion design. It still feels so surreal that I was a part of Season 1 Project Runway New Zealand!💜Thank you to Warner Brothers for casting me and all the lovely people who work behind the scenes - the producers, camera operators, assistants, sound and lighting. Big thank you to all the judges and Andreas who took the time to critique my work- I have taken on board all your feedback and will continue to do so! Thank you to all the models and hair and makeup teams for bringing all of our looks to life. A huge thank you to the other contestants for making this journey SO much fun. I miss those times after filming where we would hang out in our bathrobes, having a drink, eating Burgerfuel and having a laugh🍔🍹. I wish you all the best for the future and know you will all continue to do amazing things. Lastly, thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me from the start and continue to do so! You are all such gems💎. And an extra massive thank you to my mum for the pep talks throughout filming. You are my rock and I honestly couldn't have gotten as far as I did without your constant support!💖And very last, thank you to you guys, the viewers, for all the love and support I have received. For the creatives💖. I learned so so many things being on Project Runway, but I would say one of the biggest take aways would have been trusting my gut and backing myself. I remember looking around and being the only one not using the blocks, sketching with my eyes closed or cutting out random shapes and sticking them back together with tape. I never knew what the outcome would be. I just had to trust that I would end up with something I loved in the end!⚡️Creativity and inspiration come to us in many ways. Don’t let others/uni tell you how you must design. Explore and develop your own style and don’t let anyone dim your sparkle✨🌈 #projectrunwaynz @projectrunwaynz #projectrunway

Episode 6! This was the Resene wallpaper challenge🌻. I picked the most colourful floral print (of course) to create this petal inspired jacket and skirt💐. Loved the colour combo, but I think I would have made this a dress instead. Episode 5!⚡️For this challenge, we were inspired by the Holden Astra to create an Avant Garde look🚗. I was inspired by the curves of the car and challenged myself to work in all black for this challenge (shocker!). It was oddly freeing working in all black, strange huh! Seahorse dress from Ep 4!🌏For this challenge, we designed a print for @newworldsupermarket reusable bags. We then had to create a red carpet look based off our idea and have a sustainable element to it!🌞I was inspired by the film @aplasticocean and @justinhofman famous 2017 seahorse photo to create this look. My sustainable element was using a no waste pattern cutting technique and a pink cotton silk fabric. Check out my insta story for behind the scenes. So how did I do! It’s funny how deceptive TV can be. Seeing us on stage, you’d assume it’s just us contestants and the judges watching on. But what you don’t see are all the crew watching on too! Multiple cameras and operators, sound and lighting, hair and makeup, models, stylists, photographers, producers, assistants and others. There were probably over 50 other people that you couldn’t see!
