Project Runway New Zealand
I was cast as a contestant on the very first season of Project Runway New Zealand. Filming occurred earlier on in the year, and the first episode aired on October 1st 2018. Watch the series every Monday, 7:30pm on TVNZ 2. For international viewers, you can download a geoblocker and watch the series at www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/project-runway-new-zealand. The brief was to design a cocktail dress, which reflected the Scandinavian aesthetic of Höpt soda. We had to think modern clean lines with a quirky twist, taking inspiration from the flavour of Höpt soda we were drinking that evening. I happened to pick watermelon and mint!
The brief was to design a contemporary streetwear look, with colour and energy. Thinking sport-wear mixed with late 20th century streetwear. We then had to choose one item from a store to integrate into our looks.
This was the unconventional materials and teams challenge. The brief was to incorporate outdated technology into a two piece look.
The brief was to design a unique print for the New World reusable shopping bag range. We then had to design a red carpet look based on the concept of our bag design, integrating a sustainable element to our looks.
The brief was to design an Avant Garde look inspired by the Holden Astra, think sculptural forms and pushing yourself to be bold.
The brief was to design a high end fashion look inspired by the Resene Wallpaper range.
